For more experienced young treble (high voice, unchanged voice) singers seeking to elevate their artistry, the Junior Ensemble offers an unparalleled opportunity to refine vocal technique, explore diverse repertoire, and collaborate with world-renowned artists.

As a member of this advanced performing ensemble, you'll be challenged to reach new heights as a vocalist and musician, while contributing to groundbreaking performances on prestigious stages. Recent credits for the Junior Ensemble include the 2024 AND SING! concert at BAM, the opera Iron & Coal at Prototype Festival, Walk with Amal, Euphoria at Park Avenue Armory, Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Lord of the Rings live in concert, the 2025 world premiere of Port(al) at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and more.

Junior Ensemble / Treble voices ages 11-18 Program Information

  • The Brooklyn Youth Chorus Junior Ensemble is designed for advanced treble voices aged 11 and up, providing a rigorous and enriching choral experience. With rehearsals twice weekly, students delve into sophisticated repertoire, including commissioned works, pushing their musical boundaries. Building upon the foundation of the full Brooklyn Youth Chorus Cross-Choral training pedagogy and training, the Junior Ensemble focuses on mastering advanced vocal techniques, intricate harmonies, and complex rhythms. They perform in diverse settings, cultivating not only exceptional musicality but also invaluable performance experience, and professional and personal life skills. This ensemble prepares young singers for the highest levels of choral artistry, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for challenging and innovative choral music.

    Performing Ensembles perform in a wide variety of settings throughout the year, including concerts, recording projects, special events, and original productions.

  • Junior Ensemble - Meets two days a week for 2 hours.

    • Monday & Wednesday from 5:00-7:00pm (179 Pacific Street)

  • Approximately $261 per month over 10 months.*

    The above monthly includes tuition, as well as the registration fee ($50) and uniform maintenance Fee ($15).

    Tuition covers the full program year and varies by age and program length. Families who pay in full at registration do not pay the $45 installment plan fee.

    *Financial aid based on need is available to all qualifying families.

We understand that families have different financial situations, so we offer a variety of options to make our program accessible to everyone. 100% of our our families receive subsidized tuition, and 35% of families receive additional need-based financial aid.

Our tuition structure includes flexible payment plans, allowing you to pay annually or in manageable monthly installments. More importantly, we have a comprehensive need-based financial aid program and are committed to working with families who need assistance ensuring there are no financial barriers to access. Simply submit a financial aid application, and our team will be happy to help you explore the options that best fit your family's needs. We encourage all interested singers to apply, regardless of their financial circumstances. Finance should never be a barrier to participation.
