Concert Ensemble
The Concert Ensemble is the Grammy Award-winning flagship treble ensemble of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, comprising singers ages 12-18.
The Concert Ensemble offers unparalleled opportunities for young singers to engage with the professional music world. Members consistently collaborate with world-renowned musicians, major orchestras, and acclaimed artists on groundbreaking projects and performances.
Recent highlights include an array of impactful performances. They graced the stage three times at Carnegie Hall, including appearances alongside Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, a powerful rendition of Bernstein’s Symphony No.3 “Kaddish,” and a captivating performance with Aoife O’Donovan & The Knights. They continued their ongoing collaboration on Music from the Studio Ghibli Films of Hayao Miyazaki with Joe Hisaishi at Madison Square Garden, performed at the United Nations for the Summit of the Future, and delivered an epic performance of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King at Radio City Music Hall. Other notable engagements included a memorable concert with the Philip Glass Ensemble at Town Hall, and a commitment to classical masterworks with their presentation of BACH: St. Matthew PASSION and a collaboration with the C4 Ensemble.
The Concert Ensemble is at the forefront of new music, regularly participating in the creation of new works and pushing the boundaries of choral music. This included the world premiere of Port(al), an extraordinary site-specific choral theater piece, which garnered widespread critical acclaim. They also premiered new commissions by Composers-in-Residence, Kenyon Duncan and Angélica Negrón, as part of the innovative Diamonstein-Spielvogel Youth and Contemporary Music Initiative. Furthermore, they frequently engage in recording projects, lending their voices to acclaimed albums such as Djo's The Crux (on "Back On You") and Blonde Redhead's The Shadow of the Guest (on tracks like "Before (Choir Version)"), expanding their sound to new audiences and genres.

The Brooklyn Youth Chorus Concert Ensemble represents the pinnacle of artistic achievement for treble voices within the program, showcasing the exceptional talent and dedication of its members. This premier ensemble tackles the most challenging and diverse repertoire, spanning classical masterpieces to contemporary commissions, pushing the boundaries of choral performance. With rigorous rehearsals and a commitment to excellence, singers refine advanced vocal techniques, master complex harmonies, and develop sophisticated musicianship. They perform in prestigious venues and collaborate with renowned artists, cultivating not only extraordinary musical skills but also invaluable stage presence and professionalism. The Concert Ensemble rehearses with the Bass Ensemble (low, changed voices) on a weekly basis to prepare mixed (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) repertoire for projects and performances.

Concert Ensemble - Meets three times a week for 2+ hours.
Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-7:15pm , and Friday from 5:00-7:00pm (179 Pacific Street)

Approximately $271 per month over 10 months.*
The above monthly includes tuition, as well as the registration fee ($50) and uniform maintenance Fee ($15).Tuition covers the full program year and varies by age and program length. Families who pay in full at registration do not pay the $45 installment plan fee.

We understand that families have different financial situations, so we offer a variety of options to make our program accessible to everyone. 100% of our our families receive subsidized tuition, and 35% of families receive additional need-based financial aid.
Our tuition structure includes flexible payment plans, allowing you to pay annually or in manageable monthly installments. More importantly, we have a comprehensive need-based financial aid program and are committed to working with families who need assistance ensuring there are no financial barriers to access. Simply submit a financial aid application, and our team will be happy to help you explore the options that best fit your family's needs. We encourage all interested singers to apply, regardless of their financial circumstances. Finance should never be a barrier to participation.
