Concert Ensemble

The Concert Ensemble is the Grammy Award-winning flagship ensemble of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, comprising singers ages 12-18.

They consistently work with professional musicians, major orchestras, and renowned artists on groundbreaking projects and performances. Recent collaborations include work with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The National, David Byrne, and Bon Iver. The chorus has also been featured on The Today Show, graced the stage at Carnegie Hall, and lent their voices to acclaimed concerts like The Lord of the Rings and Music from Studio Ghibli.

The Concert Ensemble regularly participates in the creation of new works, collaborating with composers and pushing the boundaries of choral music. They also frequently engage in recording projects, contributing to albums, soundtracks, and other media.

  • The Brooklyn Youth Chorus Concert Ensemble represents the pinnacle of artistic achievement within the program, showcasing the exceptional talent and dedication of its members. This premier ensemble tackles the most challenging and diverse repertoire, spanning classical masterpieces to contemporary commissions, pushing the boundaries of choral performance. With rigorous rehearsals and a commitment to excellence, singers refine advanced vocal techniques, master complex harmonies, and develop sophisticated musicianship. They perform in prestigious venues and collaborate with renowned artists, cultivating not only extraordinary musical skills but also invaluable stage presence and professionalism.

    Performing Ensembles perform in a wide variety of settings throughout the year, including concerts, recording projects, special events, and original productions.

  • Concert Ensemble - Meets three times a week for 2+ hours.*

    • Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5:00-7:15pm (179 Pacific Street) 

    *2024-25 Schedule. Subject to change for 2025-26 season

  • Approximately $240 per month over 10 months.*
    This estimate reflects the full program year (September to May). Tuition varies based on division and placement.

    *Financial aid based on need is available to all qualifying families.
