Francesca Lionetta
Conductor

Francesca Lionetta is passionate about performance and teaching and enjoys a varied career exploring all of these interests. She is excited to join the Brooklyn Youth Chorus team this year! As a teacher, Francesca strives to help students to achieve their fullest potential in singing by teaching them how voices work, by working to release habits adopted through personal experiences, and by harkening back to human instincts to use their voices to express freely. She has experience working with singers ages 6-adult in a variety of styles and genres.

A classically trained soprano, Francesca’s recent solo performance highlights include the roles Gretel in Hansel and Gretel and Lucy in The Telephone with Opera on the James, Phyllis in Iolanthe with Bronx Opera; and concert performances as soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church Chamber Choir, Schubert’s Mass in G with Hudson Valley Singers, and Schumann’s Frauenliebe und -leben with Kayo Iwama as part of Bard’s Kurtág Festival. Francesca is a member of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church’s professional Chamber Choir and regularly sings with Bard Festival Chorale.

Francesca is a graduate of Eastman School of Music and of Bard College Conservatory’s Graduate Vocal Arts Program.  www.francescalionetta.com  (Updated September 2025)
