The Brooklyn Youth Chorus Bass Ensemble is proud to join a massive collaborative cast for the official world premiere of Directions for Making a Round Ark. Inspired by the discovery of ancient tablets that predate the story of Noah’s Ark, this performance at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music is a multi-ensemble event featuring full orchestra and multiple choirs. Come witness our Bass Ensemble help bring this ancient, epic narrative to life through a sweeping and modern musical lens.
Composed by Stanzi Vaubel and Philippe Treuille
A chamber opera in three acts.
Flood myths are among the oldest stories recorded in human history. The terror of annihilation is universal. We have always feared the worst: could everything disappear? Inspired by Irving Finkel's groundbreaking discovery, this work weaves together the flood narratives that predate Noah's Ark.
