Bed-Stuy Choral Festival

Brooklyn Youth Chorus is proud to present the first-ever Bed-Stuy Choral Festival on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Hosted at the historic Concord Baptist Church, this afternoon celebration invites singers in grades 4–8 to step into the spotlight in the heart of Brooklyn.
Whether your child is a seasoned soloist or just loves singing along to the radio, this festival is designed for everyone. Participants will engage in a dynamic workshop led by a world-class Brooklyn Youth Chorus conductor, building skills and community alongside peers from across the neighborhood. Individuals and school/church/community groups are all welcome.
Festival Schedule:
3:00 PM: Registration & Welcome
3:30 PM: Workshop & Combined Rehearsal
4:45 PM: Social Time & Snacks
5:30 PM: Public Concert & Grand Finale
The afternoon culminates in a final public concert, featuring local guest choirs and a powerful performance by the newly formed festival choir. The only requirements are a love of singing and a desire to be part of a team!
Individuals and school/church/community groups are all welcome. There is no cost to participate.
Join the Festival Choir
We invite all singers in grades 4–8 to be part of this inaugural musical celebration! You can register as an individual to meet new friends and learn from the best, or sign up your school, church, or community choir to participate as a group. All participants will go behind the scenes for an afternoon workshop with Brooklyn Youth Chorus conductors, mastering a mass-choir finale to be performed on the big stage. Whether you are a solo singer or part of an established ensemble, come help us fill the rafters of Concord Baptist with song. Participation is free.
Attend the Concert
Join us for an inspiring evening of music at the historic Concord Baptist Church. This public concert showcases the vibrant choral talent of our community, featuring guest performances from local choirs and a powerful finale featuring every festival participant. It’s a celebration of Brooklyn’s youth and the rich musical heritage of Bed-Stuy.
ADMISSION IS FREE, but space is limited, so please RSVP to secure your seat for the 5:30 PM performance.
