Cross-Choral Training(SM)

Cross-Choral Training™ is the unique method that is forging a new approach to children’s' choral pedagogy. C-CT™ was developed by BYCA's Artistic Director and Founder, Dianne Berkun, in conjunction with Voice Specialist, Jeannette LoVetri, an expert in vocal function, as a holistic approach to building vocal musicians who are capable of responding to the musical and expressive demands of diverse repertoire. It is both functional voice training, based upon voice science and health, and a comprehensive approach to teaching sight-reading and other musicianship skills

Ms. Berkun and Mrs. LoVetri lead vocal and musicianship training workshops for choral directors, voice teachers, music educators and all those interested in furthering the development of young vocal musicians.

This program has been presented in a week long summer workshop in collaboration with New York University's Steinhardt School of Education and in other events throughout the city.

Cross-Choral Training workshops address:

  • Going beyond “warming-up” to real vocal development
  • Preparing young voices to sing any style of music with ease
