Jean Kim

Jean Kim is a pianist, educator and choral conductor in the boroughs of New York City. She is a doctoral candidate in piano performance at the University of Cincinnati. She also holds degrees from Canada and the Manhattan School of Music. As a soloist and chamber pianist she has performed standard repertoire and contemporary music in Europe, Canada and the United States. As a soloist she has performed the Brahms First Piano Concerto with the Seoul Symphony Orchestra at the National Arts Center in Seoul. She has been heard on W-KSU, Radio Western Canada and Radio Korea International. In addition to performing music, she is studying music for silent film. Her dissertation will focus on the non-diegetic aspects of music in relation to the film image.
