Founded by Artistic Director Dianne Berkun 16 years ago, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy is recognized as one of the country’s leading youth choruses, distinguished by our exceptional combination of inclusiveness and high musical achievement.  Awarded a GRAMMY® in 2005, the Chorus is sought after by orchestras and artists of the highest caliber, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Sir Elton John and Sting.  BYCA's broad financial aid policy enables us to enroll over 250 students yearly, from all over Brooklyn and beyond, in our voice-based music education and performance program.  Noted for our versatility in singing our broad repertoire in an authentic manner, BYCA engages our students in the creative process of music-making by commissioning and performing new works for children's voices each year.
